The Poetry Forge ( www.poetryforge.org) was designed to trigger the exploration of the use and development of Open Source writing tools within the English classroom. The website features multiple, classroom-tested tools which are meant to be applied and actively used within the English classroom and by student writers. The Poetry Forge website features a collaborative community of teachers, higher ed faculty, students, writers and programmers, all working together to explore how this tool can be fully implemented in a classroom, taking advantage of whats a realistic possibility in terms of teacher skills and banking many practices that have become a natural part of our work.
