In this three-part activity, students investigate golden rectangles, and graph and analyze data collected by measuring sections of their index fingers.  This activity is designed to be an introduction to the Least Squares Fit Line Activity found on ExploreMath.com.

Mathematical Topics: graph data, golden ratios, golden rectangles, scatter plots, and lines of best fit (least squares fit line).

Mathematical Thinking: In this activity, students will analyze data (visually and numerically) and make inferences and conjectures.

Technology: Students will learn to make scatter plots and manipulate lines of best fit using the Least Square Fit Line Activity found on ExploreMath.com.
