In this activity, periodic graphs and the period of the sine function are investigated. Mathematical Topics: the meaning of period, periodic graphs, the graph of y = sin(x), the graph of y = sin(bx), scaling, domain, and frequency. Mathematical Thinking: Analyze graphs, make predictions and conjectures about the effects of the variable b in the equation y = asin[b(x-c)]+d, and derive periodic formulas.
