Microscopes and Probes
Students examine the concept of one million using the QX3 microscope
from Intel as well as Internet resources. Investigations deal
with measures of length, volume, and weight.
In this activity, students use a motion detector, the TI-83 Plus graphing
calculator, and their knowledge of first and second derivatives to construct a 'height versus time' graph,
a 'velocity versus time' graph, and an 'acceleration versus time' graph of a ball as it bounces.
This
lesson can be adapted for use on other TI graphing calculator models.
