            1.  Print and copy “Culture and History.”

            2.  Students will read and discuss the article with emphasis on Oneida participation in the War of 1812 
                    and the federal government’s treatment of the Oneidas during and after the war.

            3.   Students will discuss why the Oneida fought on the side of the Americans in the war.

            4.  Students will write a one-page paper on how they would have felt had they been one of the volunteers 
                    who participated in the War of 1812.
