Ella Fitzgerald
by Patrick G.

My report is on Ella Fitzgerald.  I hope to pass a thing or two on to you.
Ella Fitzgerald was born here in Newport News, Virginia in the tidewater region, near the coast.
She became a jazz singer in her twenties.  She did not attend college because she wanted to prove that African Americans were the same as a white color.  Almost everybody loved the way her voice sounded. During this time she released a lot of records. From the first day she was on stage she had proved there is no difference between whites and blacks only the skin color, because she could sing as well as popular white singers of that time.
Ella Fitzgerald was born 1917, April  25th and  died  in 1999.  She was at the age of 81.
