LeRoi Moore is a member of the Dave Matthews Band. LeRoi was the second person to join the band. The members of the band are Dave Matthews, LeRoi Moore, Stefan Lessard, Boyd Tinsley, and Carter Beaufort. In the band, LeRoi plays the flute and the saxophone. LeRoi says that jazz is his main influence. For LeRoi the Dave Matthews Band is a challenge because there is room to explore and to respond to the expressions of the other players. Before joining the band, LeRoi played jazz at many night spots in Virginia. LeRoi was trained in the classics, one reason for the band’s sometimes classic sound. LeRoi grew up in Charlottesville in the same neighborhood as Carter Beaufort. LeRoi is the oldest member in the Dave Matthews Band. A mystery to the Dave Matthews Band fans is exactly how old LeRoi is.
