Tiki Barber was born
in Montgomery County, Virginia. His twin brother
is Ronde. He went to Cave Spring
High School in Roanoke. He was chosen
three times by the Roanoke Times and World
News as All District and All
Time pick. He was the All Region
and All Male Athlete of the Year. He
started as a running back in 1998 and
replaced in four games.
When he was a senior
he was co-captain on the football. He lettered
three times in track. Twice he won
the Indoor and Outdoor Long Jump title.
He won the state title in long and triple
jump.
Tiki went to UVa.
He had the all-time record with 651 carries. He
ranked 15th in the nation. He lettered
three times on the Cavalier track
team. He ran with his brother on
the 4 x 100 meter relay team that finished
in place.
He went to the Giants
in 1997. He earned starting running back spot and
finished the year with 511 yards on 136
carried and three touchdowns. He
hurt his knee. In 1998, he started
the first four games of the season as
running back before being replaced.
He was awarded an offensive game ball by
the coaching staff for his game against
the cardinals. He is an effective
all-purpose back, as a running back, third
down back, and kick-off returner.
