GETTING STARTED:
When you first open a new presentation, you will be prompted to choose a presentation
style.
- You can opt for a blank presentation that is black and white without any
designs.
- You can design your own by adding graphics, choosing font styles, and selecting
your own colors which you apply to a MASTER SLIDE that remains constant throughout
the presentation. You begin with a blank presentation and then choose MASTER
from the VIEW pulldown menu. Then select SLIDE MASTER, and you will be prompted
to edit a master slide. When you have created your master, you can then begin
to build individual slides - see below.
- By choosing the presentation designs tab, you will see a variety of formats
that Power Point has in its library. If you click on each one once, you will
see a preview of the style in a miniature version on the right. If you doubleclick
on one of these, it will apply to all slides in your presentation.
- Power Point also offers a PRESENTATIONS option. You are given formats for
presentations based on what type of talk you are giving. These are geared
towards business and are not particularly helpful for classroom teachers.
