LESSONS USING DIGITAL HISTORY:

The Valley of the Shadow Project takes two communities, one Northern and one Southern, through the experience of the American Civil War.

Race and Place: African American Community History is a collaborative work with the Woodson Institute for Afro-American and African Studies at UVA. It includes material on slavery and emancipation, Reconstruction, and the era of Jim Crow segregation in the South.

Virtual Jamestown is a research-teaching-learning project to explore the legacies of the Jamestown settlement and "the Virginia experiment."

The Dolley Madison Project provides a window onto the domestic, political, and social worlds of Dolley Madison and on the development of elite Washington, D.C. society in the early national period.
