General History

Avalon Project at the Yale Law School - archive of historical legal documents, including charters, treaties and other agreements.
Do History - a site that shows how to piece together the past from fragments that have survived.
Hanover Historical Texts Project - making primary texts readily available to students, faculty and the general public.
History and Politics Out Loud - audio clips and transcripts of modern political speakers.
History Online: Database at the University of Kansas - one of the most extensive collections of history related links available.
Hyperhistory online - thousands of web pages relating to 3,000 years of world history.
National Archives and Records Administration - primary resources from official repository of American documents.
Repositories of Primary Sources - web sites describing holdings of manuscripts, archives, rare books, historical photographs, and other primary sources for the research scholar.
The History Channel - history related exhibits and resources, "this day in history, and online discussion relating to history.
The History Net - a commercial site with resources numerous topical areas.
The History Place - a commercial collection of exhibits relating to general American and World history and World War II.

Ancient Egypt - a beautiful site all about ancient Egypt.
Britannia's British History - a variety of resources on British history.
Images from History - pictures and artifacts from history.
Exploring the Ancient World - concentrates on primary sources from form the ancient world.
Discovering China - comprehensive site detailing the history and culture of China (1839-present).
Learner.org - great exhibits on life in the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, and Collapse: Why do civilizations fall?

The United States Congress - the official web site for the United States Congress.
Youth Leadership Initiative-Free civics education programs for the K-12 classroom, including annual YLI Internet Mock Election, legislative e-Congress, community involvement project Democracy Corps, and campaigns CD Rom simulation "A More Perfect Union."
